Dear SCA Members,

In this newsletter we are sharing an announcement of the SISTA US tournament this weekend, the newest event calendar and two vacancies in the SCA board. Furthermore, three SCA fencers will participate in the youth European Championships!

Watching/helping/buying at the most beautiful tournament in The Netherlands
The SISTA US tournament will take place on 21 and 22 January at Sporthallen Zuid in Amsterdam. This competition is for all weapons and including youth categories. Lieffertz Fechtsport will, as usual, be present for selling equipment. Come by if you would like to see our fencers in action or want to buy new equipment! If you would like to help building up (Friday at 22:30) or breaking down (Sunday 16:00), then you can contact trainer Daniël.

Three SCA fencers selected for the youth EC
Cedric van den Berg, Fabian Koster and Tessa Koster will participate at the youth European Championships in Tallinn, Estonia, all at foil. Cedric and Fabian will fence on 22 February at the individual cadets competition. They will also fence with the national team in the team event on 24 February. For Cedric and Fabian, this will be their first international title tournament. Good luck!

Tessa already has more experience at these tournaments and will fence on 26 February in the individual juniors competition. Also lots of luck!

Did you know that this is the second time in history that a sister and brother from SCA participate in the European Championships?

Vacancies SCA board
For the SCA board, we are looking for a new secretary and PR board member. As PR board member, you will firstly work on the communication and marketing for SCA. Next to that, you can help out with various other projects for the club. As secretary you will work, among other things, on various projects, preparing board meetings and the ALV, and writing and sending newsletters.

The new board members will start after the next ALV (in the spring). If you are interested in contributing to the club in one of these positions, then send an email to secretaris@schermcentrumamsterdam.nl.

Events calendar
Since not too long, SCA has an events calendar, including an overview of upcoming social events, club tournaments and other events. This overview is available in the fencing hall, and will be shared via newsletters and on social media. The current calendar can be found here.
