Welcome to a new season – 2025 Edition

Dear SCA Members,

We hope you had a wonderful break and are as excited as we are to return to the pistes. From next week onwards – Monday 25 August – our regular training schedule will be back, and we’re excited to see everyone in training.

Training schedules are back to normal

We’re back to our normal training schedules at both FOS and the Apollohal. You’ll find those schedules here.

Epeé trainings

Our own epee trainer, Rezk Nawar, will not be able to come to the club until spring 2026. Until then, Matthijs and Daniël will take over the epee training. We’ll also try to arrange for an external coach to come to the club.

Annual SCA BBQ on Saturday, September 13

There will be an SCA BBQ! After the Saturday training on Saturday 13 September, we’ll organise a BBQ lunch at the restaurant of the Frans Otten Stadium. Everybody is most welcome to join us at the morning training session and the barbecue afterwards. If you can’t make it to the training, be there at 12:30 pm to enjoy a delicious barbecue. Youth or adults, competitive or recreational fencers: everybody is welcome!

The desserts will be as a ‘Dutch party’: everybody brings something!

Time: after the Saturday training, from 12:30 PM onwards
Venue: restaurant of the Frans Otten Stadium (2nd floor)
Costs: per person for the barbecue and one drink
Youth (up to 18 yrs):  EUR 5
Student (with student card): EUR 10
Adults: EUR 15

SISTA tournament

Mark your calendar as the 32nd edition of the SISTA-SFZ Tournament will take place on Saturday, September 27, and Sunday, September 28, 2025. We invite you to witness some top-notch fencing at Sporthallen Zuid, located at Burgerweeshuispad 54, 1076 EP Amsterdam. It is also a great opportunity to purchase some equipment.
